Mayday Records was started in the 1990s by a Mr. Phil Aphonic to promote the sonic output of his experimental music project Infant Mortality Rate. The label currently has fourteen releases under various names but all with at least some input from Mr. Aphonic. Best of all: most are free digital releases and all you have to do is ask!

Our little web store also features nine terrific back-catalog releases from the awesome Lazy Squid label. Most are from the Houston-based old-school psych/punk band Sad Pygmy, active in the 1990s, plus the truly great Risk... comp and Manifestation V here as well. We feel these are classics well worth owning, so please check them out.
